He was then ordained to the Gospel Ministry on May 20, 1983, at New Prospect Baptist Church in Detroit, MI, under the leadership of Reverend S.L. Whitney. He founded and organized the Spirit Field Baptist Church in 1980 with approximately 100 members. In 1992, Pastor Roberson was called to serve as the Pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Southfield, MI. God envisioned him with a seven-point plan that would assist the church with its growth.
One of Pastor Roberson’s favorite biblical quotations is Proverbs 29:18: “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” With the power of God, his vision unfolded, and when he left the church, the membership had grown from 99 to over 3000.
